The ICE Africa 2018 event was held over a period of 2 days with a number of foreign and local vendors showcasing their products and services. Africa is a market that many operators, software developers, payment providers and policy makers are looking to invest in. Apart from this, the region has shown a recent increase in an uptake to iGaming products such as sports betting and online casino gaming.
The key stakeholders at ICE Africa are looking forward to a change in the way Africa does business within the iGaming industry. Over the past few years, we’ve already seen a keen interest in iGaming products such as sports betting and online casino gaming from a number of African regions. The ICE AFRICA event tackled pertinent issues such as concerns about regulation, taxation and investment. According to John Kamara, Chief of ICE Africa and also the Director of Global Gaming Company, he mentions that the event served to bridge the gap between gaming in Africa and the rest of the world.
As it stands, policy makers are in discussion about what happens next for Africa. We are expecting some big and welcomed changes with the promise that Africa can too bring its A-game to the iGaming industry in the near future.
